Planning for Homes Near Jobs within Freedom Circle
Within walking distance from Irvine Company’s award-winning Santa Clara Square mixed-use community is our Santa Clara Park office campus. The campus sits at the heart of the City’s Freedom Circle Focus Area Plan, which aims to add new residential communities to meet the housing needs of this employment-rich area.
Consistent with this vision, we have created a master plan for a new community on the 26-acre property with on-site amenities and over 9 acres of parks and open space. Key features of the plan include:
- Up to 1,792 apartment homes across five residential buildings, classically composed and proportioned in Mediterranean architectural styles. Views of the buildings will be screened with large redwood trees.
- Fifteen percent of the new homes will be set aside to meet the City’s affordable housing requirements.
- A tree-lined central promenade will connect residents and the public to a cafe and new parks, including:

- A 2.7-acre public park located within a grove of redwood trees to serve as a central gathering area for the community.
- A 3.9-acre linear park to serve as a linkage for walking, jogging and fitness to the neighboring Freedom Circle district. This also will serve as a trailhead to the San Tomas Aquino Creek pedestrian and bike path.
- 3 acres of private park space spread throughout the community will feature two large pool areas, outdoor dining, picnic areas and passive garden experiences.

- Via the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail, the new community is connected to Santa Clara Square, Levi Stadium and other employment and entertainment centers.
We filed an application for the new community with the City in February and look forward to its review process.
